Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How long does it take before I can get started with my piano lessons?
There are several factors that determine when you can get started. Our usual response time to your inquiry is approximately 2-3 days. From there, the day and time for your piano lessons is dependent upon your preference and our teacher’s availability. Typically, the start time for lessons is within 1-2 weeks.
Are your piano teachers certified?
Yes, all our instructors have at least certifications recognised by either ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall. Many of them also have music diplomas and degrees as well as specific teaching experience. We are proud to produce any certification necessary that you would like to see on the specific teacher who is conducting your lessons. We can email you a copy or show you a copy of certification on the first lesson.
What happens if I decide that I would like a different piano teacher?
Before deciding that a teacher is not for you, it is best to try working with them for at least one month to understand and integrate with their way of conducting the lessons. Although learning styles may differ, and you may not feel comfortable at first, you may find yourself adjusting over time. If you would still like to try a different teacher, we can arrange for a replacement teacher at no additional cost.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
Teachers understand that unexpected emergencies or situations may occur where it may be necessary for you to miss a lesson. In this case, make-up lessons can be arranged, subject to the teacher’s schedule and the availability. It is recommended that you speak with your teacher about the best available options for making up a missed lesson.
How far in advance should I inform my piano teacher if I need to reschedule a lesson?
The ideal scenario would be to provide as much notice as possible. However, it is best to provide at least one day’s notice, especially if the teacher needs to travel to your home for the lesson. Always check with your teacher about their policies for holidays and missed lesson notices. This will ensure that both yourself and the teacher do not have any misunderstandings or are inconvenienced in any way.
Do your piano teachers prepare my child for their piano exams?
Yes, all our piano teachers are trained to help students prepare and register for their piano examinations. Be sure to discuss this with the teacher on the first lesson.
